Ben primarily assists clients with commercial leasing matters. He represents landlords and tenants in a variety of asset classes, including mixed-use retail space, street retail, shopping centers, office buildings and industrial parks. Prior to joining Kaalberg Giesecke, Ben spent most of his legal career at Husch Blackwell, an AmLaw 100 Firm, representing national and regional developers, landlords and tenants. Ben’s experience also includes real estate acquisitions and dispositions, commercial finance, condominiums, and retail and mixed-use Declarations, REAs, and CC&Rs.
Ben received his J.D. in 2018 from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he was inducted into the Order of the Coif and served as an editor for both the Tennessee Law Review and Transactions: The Tennessee Journal of Business Law. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Lee University, graduating summa cum laude.
Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Ben grew up primarily in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, with a wintry detour up north to Minnesota. He moved to Middle Tennessee at the start of high school and has remained in Tennessee throughout his adult life, including time spent in Chattanooga, Knoxville, and his most recent relocation to East Nashville at the beginning of 2023. Ben spends most of his weekends officiating rugby matches around the country and attending concerts.
